Tom to Be in Maestro?

This might be new to a lot of our readers! After browsing Tom’s IMDB page, a new credit popped up – for Maestro. See Maestro’s IMDB page (which currently states it’s in pre-production) here.

Maestro is a novel written by Australian author Peter Goldsworthy.

IMDB isn’t the most reliable source, but in an article from 2008, Variety does list Tom as part of the project (see Variety’s article here.)

We’ll keep you updated on any more information about the project and if Tom is definitely involved.

Tom Mentioned in Theatre Year in Reviews

A few websites have posted articles about their Year in Review of Theatre, and most of them included Tom!

What’s On Stage:

Another was probably Simon Stephens’ Punk Rock at the Lyric Hammersmith, where Sean Holmes launched a new regime that meant business, following the Stephens – in which newcomer Tom Sturridge shone as a troubled Stockport sixth-former in a copy-cat re-hash of the Columbine School Massacre – with a superb revival of Trevor Griffiths’ Comedians.

The Guardian:

Simon Stephens’s Punk Rock – Sean Holmes’s first show as artistic director of the Lyric Hammersmith – featured the outstanding Tom Sturridge as a schoolboy slowly rumpling into murderous madness.

London Informer:

The young cast were all superb, especially Tom Sturridge as the increasingly erratic oddball William, and the dialogue was snappy and at times intensely lyrical.
